Monochromatic Absorptivity


Monochromatic absorptivity is defined as the ratio of the absorbed radiation at a specific wavelength and temperature to the absorbed radiation by a black body at the same wavelength and temperature. By applying the Kirchoff's law to a grey body, we obtain:

where is the monochromatic emissivity and is the monochromatic absorptivity of the body.
