Monochromatic Emissivity


Monochromatic emissivity, , is defined as the ratio of the emitted radiation at a specific wavelength and temperature to the emitted radiation from a black body at the same wavelength and temperature. By applying the Kirchoff's law to a grey body, we obtain:

where is the monochromatic emissivity and is the monochromatic absorptivity of the body.
